Like the water but don't want to spend every day of your vacation in it? There are many land-based activities on St. Croix to keep you, or any landlubber in your party, as busy as they want to be.

If golf is one of your favorite diversions, then you will enjoy St. Croix. There are three golf courses, two 18 hole and one 9 hole. The most famous is the one at the Carambola, designed by Robert Trent Jones and on the LPGA tour. Or if history interests you, try the sugar plantation museums and ruins or investigate the old Danish fort in Christiansted, now a U.S. National Park. Other ideas include horseback riding, jeep tours, gambling at the only casino in the USVI, or hiking in the rainforest. For those times when hunger strikes there are plenty of good restaurants serving a variety of food and drink in a friendly atmosphere. Don't forget the duty-free shopping either. And, since St. Croix enjoys annual average temperatures of 79 degrees with constant easterly trade winds, it is a pleasant vacation paradise any time of year.
