Mango Hill Greathouse

As you approach the driveway of this villa, you can almost envision the view that is awaiting you upon arrival. Perched atop a hillside in the prestigious gated community of Estate Shoys, the Mango Hill Great House is a majestic home befitting the colonial settlers of the island. Built in 2006, this villa evokes the design and ambiance of homes built in the 1800’s through the use of construction materials and floor plans that were popular during that period. The architectural features such as galleries on the front and rear of the villa and the use of coralstone for the entryway and of Danish bricks on the driveway recreate a living space one might have enjoyed centuries ago. The views of the island from the galleries and the pool area capture the most memorable sights of St. Croix including the verdant green hills, the breathtaking Caribbean azure seas and the third hole of the Buccaneer golf course. Buck Island seems to be close enough to touch from the pool area of the house!

Once inside the villa, the arched doorway welcomes you into the living room decorated with spectacular Cruzian and New England antiques. Leather bound books give the library a regal touch and the French doors highlight the ocean views. The formal dining room showcases heirloom furnishings from the owner’s family. The kitchen, located directly through the dining room, is equipped with all the most modern European appliances. The granite counter tops and cozy breakfast area makes the hearth of the house even more appealing.

A curving mahogany staircases leads from the entryway to the second floor library which houses a magnificent collection of art and artifacts. Each of the bedrooms is en suite with large private bathrooms constructed from marble, limestone and granite. All of the sleeping rooms lead directly to the upper gallery of the rear of the house through French doors. The view from each of the bedrooms is so tranquil that you will enjoy a perfect island nights sleep! And forget your shower cover-up – at Mango Hill Great House, your bath robe is already waiting for you!

The fourth bedroom is located in the guest house near the pool. The guest house itself has an entertainment center with refrigerator and ice maker and as well as a flat screen tv with dvd/vcr capability. This is perfect spot to watch your team or a favorite movie while enjoying your stay on island. The bedroom is decorated in Jamaican style and has its own private verandah towards the ocean. this is an ideal spot for a newlywed couple or the grandparents joining the family on vacation.

The outdoor features of the Mango Hill Great House separate it from other villas on St. Croix. With 2,500 square feet of outdoor living area, you can entertain up to twenty guests for dinner. All outdoor areas offer tables and chairs for relaxing in the late afternoon sun or reading the morning papers. As you will find, the life style of the islands almost demands that you enjoy the outdoors as much as indoor living space.

The villa offers central air conditioning in all bedrooms and in the dining room. Ceiling fans are in all of the rooms so that you can enjoy the refreshing Caribbean breezes all day. High speed internet access is available throughout the house and in the guest house.

There are dual washers and dryers upstairs near the bedrooms.

For those for those of you who might not be able to leave your cares behind, there is a fax, copier, scanner and printer available for your use. All televisions are flat panel and are equipped with satellite service and dvd/vcr players.
